It's okay to panic a little when you have a choir performance and 5 of your 15 men don't show up. Just know that it will go okay anyway. Be relieved that that performance was nice, but it's ultimately not the one that matters. Sunday's is the important one.

Christmas is a lot more relaxed when you don't have 4000 performances and an equal number of parties. Remember that on the years when the invites start rolling it. They haven't this year, and although there is a small part of you that's a little hurt, the much bigger part of you is very happy about all of this.

Try to get to bed before midnight tonight, okay? You are starting to get cranky.

Pablo's ears finally are feeling better. It's a bit odd that you've had this symptom with him post-tonsillectomy, but he's doing fine. You haven't been very patient, but guess what! Even after all of your worry, he went to school this morning! Yippee!

Book editing has been a blast, but will you please try to avoid doing it during the Holidays next time!?!

Someday your house will be clean again. It'll happen.

That someday may not be for another 20 years. You'd better face reality on that one.

Exercise is good. You were sore for days after boxing the other day, but do you remember how good the rest of you felt. Please get back on it. Every time you don't you kick yourself for not doing it, and you are starting to believe your lesser self. Call that other person back! That person who knew they looked good and was actually getting to the point that they liked the elliptical. She needs to come back or you are going to regret it.

You know that whole getting to bed before midnight thing I mentioned before? Yeah. Get on it. You are finding yourself slipping in to mild depression due to lack of sleep.

You are loved.

You need to get over your anti-snow tendencies this year. Get over it already! You live in a place with loads of snow. It's going to happen! It's not the end of the world when it snows.

You might want to invest in some shoes and boots with better tread. . .

Luke II is that scripture that always calms you and brings you to a peaceful spot. Read it more and dwell in that spot. You need it.

Music is great! Use it!

Listening to the same song over and over because Tyrone insists upon pressing the back button over and over is going to send you over the edge. Sneak in some Canadian Brass once in a while or something.

Make this Christmas great! You know how! Just do it!

  1. That last line sums it up so perfectly - just do it! We do, indeed, know how. We're pretty dang clever when it comes right down to it. But if we didn't have this hitch in things it'd all be too easy, wouldn't it? If we were smart enough to know what to do and have the motivation and energy to do it as well life would be oh so simple.

Good thing it's not, eh? Good thing we have something holding us back so we take the time to learn a few things. =)

    Love you!

Agreed 100% with your list. Seems we haven't had nearly as many parties this year either, but yet somehow, like you said, our time is still full??
So when you master this list, will you help me master it too? :)

    You are loved. Very much.

I'm glad you know your limitations and I'm glad you're enjoying your holiday season. I'm also very happy for little Ethan and his ears. I hope it continues to go well.

    Merry Christmas, Eowyn.

This totally could have been my list. Especially the bedtime reminders. :)

  5. You are so funny and dear. I hope things are going well!

  6. Merry belated Christmas :) !!

I still need to work on getting to bed before midnight. Am I EVER going to learn that lesson?
